Hip Hip Hummus!
Print recipeHummus is one of the greatest dishes I know. A deliciously creamy and flavourful spread made of chickpeas. It has become so popular that there is an international hummus day to celebrate it in May. Not only is it extremely tasty but also very healthy and nourishing. A guaranteed crowd pleaser!
Tip: To keep things fast, I use tinned chickpeas in this recipe (instead of soaking and cooking dried ones).

- 1 tin chickpeas (240 g drained)
- 50 ml water
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons tahini (sesame paste)
- Juice of half lemon
- 1 clove garlic (pressed)
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin (ground)
- 2 handful fresh coriander
- Half teaspoon salt
Kitchen tools: food processor or hand-held blender
Method
- Wash coriander leaves
- Drain and rinse chickpeas
- Combine all ingredients in food processor or use hand-held blender (leave a few coriander leaves to sprinkle)
- Blend until smooth
- Serve sprinkled with coriander leaves and drizzle with olive oil or store in fridge for up to 5 days
